DALE SAIP

Serving the Delta School District since 1987

Courage is what it takes to stand up and speak. Courage is also what it takes to sit down and listen
— Winston Churchill

For the municipality of Delta, the name Saip is associated with 30 years of loyal service to the community.

Dale Saip is seeking his 9th term as a Trustee with the Delta Board of Education.  A 35 year resident of South Delta, Dale is father of 5 children, all of whom attended Delta schools. Dale is also grandfather to two young boys.

Dale has been with the Vancouver Giants Hockey organization for 20 years, and is currently Senior Vice President while still remaining highly involved in the community of Delta.

In 2012, Dale received the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal from the Governor General for his community service.

Dale’s connection to the Delta School District is strong - His wife, Heather, is a music specialist in the District. His son, Gatlin, is a history teacher at SDSS and his daughter-in-law, Mackenzie, is a child psychologist in both Langley and Delta. His two youngest daughters are still in High School and his eldest grandson started Kindergarten here in Delta this September.

Since first being elected in 1987, Dale has fought hard to bring fiscal accountability into balance with expectations for student success. His history as a Trustee and Chair of the Delta School Board and his experience as part of the organizing committee of the World Junior Hockey Championships, Chair of the Greater Vancouver Food Bank Society, Director with the BC Sports Hall of Fame, Director of the Gitxsan Development Corporation, the Delta Police Foundation Board, KidSport Delta as well as numerous other Boards and charities has given him a broad base of practical, transferable expertise that has been valuable in serving our School District.

As an elected Trustee, Dale believes it is his responsibility to find and hire the best possible people to run and administer the District within the means provided. He also believes that, at times, it is necessary to stay out of the way, and enable qualified teachers and support staff to do their job. It is with deep pride in the Delta School District and a high regard for those that serve within it that Dale seeks your support for re-election.
